A Level Results Day
What an amazing achievement!
This year group have been through so much, they had their Year 11 abruptly ended and went through the original TAGS procedures and then had a year of disruption due to COVID. For these students to achieve what they have is nothing short of remarkable and is a true testament to their resilience, dedication, and focus. I am proud of each one of them and I know they will go on to wonderful careers and flourish based on the character they have shown.
There are some notable academic performances such as:
Sean B – 4 A*s
George C – 4 A*s
Zainab A – 3 A*s
Cameron C – 3 A*s
Kieran M – 3 A*s and 1 A
But there are many other success stories, too many to individually mention, such as students who have lost close family relatives and gone on to gain outstanding results and today, I have been celebrating with them all.
So many of our students are going on to exciting next steps, Oxbridge, Russell Group Universities, fantastic apprenticeships, and gap years.
Results are significantly up on all previous measures including the Teacher Assessed Grades in 2021, which bucks the national trend and again demonstrates how special this year group are. They are also massively up on the 2019 results. 66% of students achieved A*-B which is an increase of 17% on 2019 and 7% from 2021. 85% of students achieved an A*-C which is an increase of 11% from 2019 and 5% from 2021. 36% of students achieved an A or A* which is again an increase of 15% on 2019 and 3% on 2021. There is an overall pass rate of 99% which is also up on previous years.
Anne Cheshire, Head of Sixth Form added ‘I am absolutely delighted for the students and their parents. Their results are richly deserved, they were an exceptional year group who faced unprecedented challenges. I wish them every luck for the future’.
Class of 2022, it has been a privilege to call you Maiden Erlegh students – we wish you all the best!
