Staff & Sixth Form Book Club

At Maiden Erlegh we offer a staff and sixth form student book club. We meet approximately once per half term (depending on the length of the books) to discuss our opinions and ideas on the selected book. This has been very well attended by both staff and Year 12 and Year 13 students. This is a wonderful opportunity for Literature students to further their reading and understanding, and allow students who do not study a literary subject exposure to a range of texts… over a cup of tea and a biscuit, of course!

We take a collaborative approach to selecting the books we read, allowing members of the group to suggest books they are interested in reading, and we select from those. This has led to us reading a range of styles and genres that offer something for everyone.

Please take a look at the attached document that lists some of the previous texts chosen.
