Foundation PE
At Maiden Erlegh the PE curriculum is designed to inspire and engage all student’s to succeed and become more independent in their learning. At Foundation Stage all students take part in core PE lessons.
Students will:
- develop their competence in a broad range of physical activities
- be physically active for sustained periods of time
- fully engage in competitive sports and activities
- be taught to lead a healthy, active lifestyle
Students will be taught to:
- develop their technique and improve their performance in a range of competitive team sports
- perform a range of gym and dance styles and forms
- take part in outdoor and adventurous activities and developing skills to solve problems, either individually or as a group
- analyse their own and others performance
All students in years 7 – 9 have 2 lessons per week and activities change every half term and cover a wide variety of sports and activities

Year 9 Boys CONTACT Rugby, Football, Hockey, HRE (Health Related Activity), Basketball, Handball, Vaulting Gymnastics, Dance, OAA (Outdoor Adventurous Activities), Tennis, Cricket, Athletics.
Year 9 Girls CONTACT/Tag Rugby, Hockey, Netball, Football, HRE (Health Related Activity), Vaulting Gymnastics, Dance, OAA (Outdoor Adventurous Activities) Tennis, Rounders, Athletics.
Students are encouraged to take part in competitive sports and activities outside school through a wide variety and range of extra-curricular sports clubs
