MAIDEN ERLEGH GCSE STUDENTS OVERCOME A TOUGH FEW YEARS WITH AMAZING RESULTS

I am incredibly proud to share the results of our wonderful Year 11’s. This cohort, perhaps more than any other, have been impacted so much by the pandemic having started their qualifications in September 2019. To achieve what they have is quite remarkable and I am so proud of them. Their results have exceeded expectations and there are so many individual success stories across the group. We have some students who achieved 10 or more grade 9’s:

But it is not just about the top grades, the progress, resilience and dedication they have shown is to be commended. So many students have achieved more than they ever expected and they should be thrilled with their results. I am delighted to have seen so many students celebrate this morning, and rightly so! Successes have been seen in GCSE’s, vocational courses and entry level qualifications.

In terms of headline figures as a cohort, 87% achieved a pass in both English and Maths and nearly a half of all grades were 7-9 (old A*/A). An attainment 8 score of just under 60 means that the average grade students achieved across all subjects is a 6, the highest we have ever had. Other headline figures include:

87% of students achieved 4+ in English and Maths
72% of students achieved 5+ in English and Maths
Attainment 8 score of 59.55
44% of all grades were 7-9
99.5% of grades were 9-1
90% of students achieved a grade 4 or better in English
88% of students achieved a grade 4 or better in Maths
