Following our excellent A Level and BTEC and results which were published last week, we are extremely proud to celebrate the success of our Year 11 students in their examinations:
81% of all the GCSE and BTEC grades were C or higher
10% were A*
73% of all students gained 5 A*-C grades including English and Mathematics.
This is a huge achievement and as Co-Headteachers we would like to congratulate all the students on such a great set of results. We would also like to thank our talented staff for their hard work and dedication and our parent body, who are so supportive of what we do.
For those students who are returning to the Sixth Form, we look forward to seeing you again soon. For those who are starting on a new path, we wish you all the very best of luck for the future.
Best Ever A Level Results
The Sixth Form class of 2015 at Maiden Erlegh have once again achieved an excellent set of results. We are delighted to announce that the results this year have been the best for many years and have set a very high standard for us to aim for in the future. 99.7% of all examinations taken were passed. 63.1% were passed at grades A*, A or B. These figures are the best achieved at our school since 2000 when the current structure of assessment for Sixth Form students was first introduced nationally. 86.2% of examinations taken by Sixth Form students were passed at grades C or above. Almost a third of all examinations taken were graded at A or A*.
Mary Davies and Mike Haddrell, Co-Headteachers were delighted and want to thank all staff at the school for their hard work and dedication. They said:
“The teachers at our school have a detailed understanding of the expectations and challenges of the courses they teach and they know the strengths and weaknesses of every student. We work hard to provide all our students with support and challenge to ensure they achieve their potential. We would like to thank all the parents for supporting their children through their schooling and in particular during the examination season. Finally, we send sincere and heartfelt congratulations to all our students who have achieved such fine results; we are very proud of them all.”
Peter Thomas, Chief Executive of Maiden Erlegh Trust said:
”We are thrilled with the best ever A- level results in the history of Maiden Erlegh School. I would like to pay tribute to the inspirational teachers who have worked tirelessly to support the students to achieve these results. We are very proud that more young people than ever before have secured places in higher education, further education, training and employment. This level of academic success is a key factor in attracting ever increasing numbers of students to join our sixth form, including those who join us from elsewhere. We look forward with confidence to the new academic year”.
